Reflection & Review

The 30-minute period of viewing each other's work, discussing artistic goals, media and methods used is a constructive and important element of the workshop. An experimental spirit is encouraged and each artist develops a very individual artistic approach.

Drawing & Art Making

2 hours of drawing and art making is the core of this workshop. Models are rotated from week to week. Short to long poses are organized to fit the group's needs. A 10-minute tea break during the 2 hours provides a welcome rest and encourages social interaction.

This workshop offers a supportive space to explore your creativity and personal artistic voice. Each participant will work in the medium of their choosing. Everyone, from complete beginner to experienced artist are welcome to draw, paint, sculpt and work in any other medium. Easels, drawing boards, small tables and stools are available for your use; please bring your own materials and any other clean up materials your work may demand.

Each session includes two hours of working from a live model, emphasising long poses and sustained focus on ideas. The final 30 minutes will be devoted to relaxed group sharing and discussion of each other's work, offering a chance to reflect and receive constructive feedback.

Participants are encouraged to use these sessions to identify the art form they most wish to pursue and develop it through constructive dialogue with each other, building on ideas and developing artistic skills week after week.
